L-arginine is a substance that is found naturally within the human body, capable of being independently produced, as well as found within natural poultry food sources, such as chicken and turkey.

It is believed that one of the many responsibilities of L-arginine, is the production of sperm and maintenance of healthy sperm motility in males. Other responsibilities include: healing of wounds throughout the body, promotion of the production of essential nitric oxide within the body, as well as the human growth hormone, and the nutrient promotes the production of collagen.

The second form of supplementation is manufactured through fermentation, this form is known as L-arginine.
