Vitamin B6 and health
Vitamin B6, an amino acid, also known as
Pyridoxine one of the nutrients most extensively involved in bodily
functions. Vitamin B5 converts fats, proteins, and carbohydrates into
energy; it helps to maintain the immune and nervous systems, and it may act
to prevent cardiac disease, in part by fighting the formation of
homocysteine, which leads to cholesterol deposits around the heart.
Found naturally in high protein foods, like poultry, eat, eggs, nuts and
dairy products, and in whole grains, especially oatmeal and cereals, B6 is
also contained in avocados, bananas, mangos, and potatoes all have B6. Even
herbs like alfalfa, catnip, and oat straw, although seldom used for human
consumption, are natural sources to have B6. And processed rice, breads, and
baked goods are fortified with B6.
Even though B6 is widely available in food, some people on a nutritionally
poor diet may, after an extended time, may develop a B6 deficiency resulting
in depression, confusion, dermatitis, tongue inflammation, and even
convulsions. The elderly, and alcoholics, are especially vulnerable to b6
deficiencies; and while the mentioned symptoms are indicative of a lack of
b6, they could also be signs of more serious health problems, and should be
examined by a physician.
B6 may be helpful in treating varicose veins, carpal tunnel syndrome, PMS,
diabetes, and, of course, seizures resulting from B6 deficiency. It will
also help maintain cardiovascular function.
As with any nutritional supplement, those considering B6 should observe
certain precautions. Epileptics should avoid B6 as it can interfere with
anti-seizure medications; and those who have taken excessive B6 may
experience nerve damage in the arms or legs; fortunately, the damage is
reversible and will be eliminate when the victim stops taking B6.
If you are considering a B6 supplement, we at nutritional-supplement-guides
recommend the one we personally use. We get our B6 as part of an alternative
health supplement which is also loaded with other vitamins, amino acids,
minerals, and live herbal extracts which work together to maximize your
health benefits.
The research done here at nutritional-supplement-guides has led us to settle
on Xtend-Life Natural Products’
Total Balance
nutritional product.
We have made this choice because:
Total Balance,
produced at a pharmaceutical GMP compliant facility contains what it states
on the actual product label. GMP compliant facilities operate according to
the strictest regulations in the world when producing and processing
nutritional products, and independently verify that their ingredients are
both unadulterated and free of contaminants. You can be assured, by buying
from such a source, that your nutrients are both pure and toxin-free.
Total Balance includes only the
highest-quality nutrients, derived from some of the world’s cleanest
environments. Here’s what they say on the Xtend-Life's website:
"The natural versions, (particularly vitamins) are much more potent than
their synthetic counterparts (sometimes more than double). When faced with
an option we use the natural version with the highest potency. For example,
we source and use natural crystalline 98% pure beta-carotene in our 'Total
Balance' product from the top manufacturer of this nutrient in Europe at a
cost of $2,400 per kilo, instead of the more common synthetic variety at a
cost of only around $60.
This is an interesting example because
natural beta-carotene has been proven in clinical trials to be far superior
to its synthetic alternative. In one of these trials, which involved testing
beta-carotene on tumors, the natural version was responsible for the tumors
disappearing and yet the synthetic version had no impact at all."
Finally, we personally prefer Xtend-Life's
Total Balance
to every other nutritional supplement because each capsule of Total Balance
supplies, in addition to B6, almost seventy powerful nutrients. The amount
of money we save each month from not having to by each nutrient has been
enormous.
If you want to treat yourself to the full benefits of a B6 supplement in its
purest form, we strongly suggest that you investigate
Total Balance,
the preferred supplement of Nutritional-Supplement-Guides.
