Resveratol (50%)

We all know that red wine is supposed to have wonderful health properties. It is said that it lowers the risk of cancer and heart disease.
While studying the “French Paradox,” that is why when the French have such rich diets, alcohol- two glass of red wine everyday, and cigarettes, they do not have a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease?

The link as has been discovered is the red wine. Red wine was found to have a substance, a nutrient, called Resveratol and that it has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Other studies have shown that it prevents blood clots by keeping the blood vessels open and pliable.

Further information on Resveratol

Resveratol helps lower cholesterol. It is also said to be more powerful than Vitamin E in protecting against LDL oxidation that has been linked to cardiovascular disease. It may slow tumor growth by blocking the action of Cox-2 an enzyme that is believed to have a part in the development of colon cancer.

Resveratol is found in stems, leaves, and the skin of grapes. It is also present in purple grape juice, red or purple grapes, and peanuts. Research has shown that non-alcoholic red wine works just as well as its counterpart. The fermenting process in red wine raises the level of resveratol in red wine. Red wine has as much as 3 times as much as grape juice.

There were no reports on toxicity found. Neither were there reports on side effects. No drug interactions were noted. Also no information on precautions was noted. There is no RDA (recommended daily allowance) set for resveratrol. A sensible dose of around 30 to 50 mgs is advocated by some experts.

Our Opinion

Resveratrol appears to be a very powerful nutrient. It has been shown to expand the life span of yeast cells by up to 80 percent according to one US study.

However, further studies on humans need to be conducted in order to verify the above.

Also, because there are negative side effects and health risks of drinking alcohol, we do not believe one should start drinking red wine daily to reap the benefits of resveratrol.
Taking resveratrol in a supplement form seems to be a much wiser choice to get its benefits without the damaging negative effects of consuming alcohol.

Resveratrol Supplement – How to Get the True effects from Resveratol

1. Always obtain your nutritional product from pharmaceutical GMP compliant manufacturers. These facilities comply with the strictest regulatory standards for the manufacture of dietary supplements. This is an issue consumers need to take seriously because nutritional supplements are unregulated in the U.S., and many supplements have been shown to harbor contaminants or to not even contain the ingredients that are stated on the product label.

2. Always make sure your resveratrol supplement does not contain any fillers or additives (examples include: sugar, starch, gluten, silica (sand!)) or any artificial colors or flavors of any kind.

Why not use the best? Your health depends on it.
